Ciao Olga. Following comments made by my cousin Rosemary Apicella, I can now tell you that one of my aunties was called Agnese and was married to Giovanni Di Lieto (called the "professor"). They had a daughter called Trofimena and three sons, Gianni, Michelino (The youngest criminal judge in Italy) and Pasquale. They were all in Education and, apart from Michelino, they were all teachers. Uncle Giovanni taught me when I was a kid, as well as auntie Agnese. As far as I know, apart from Pasquale, the others all had children. Pasquale is still alive and I met him last year in Minori. Therefore, if the line of the family is correct, you do have relatives in Minori and we are definitely related. I will be going to Minori in September as well, so hopefully, we could meet there. If you would like to get in touch, my home number is: 0208 789 0194. It will be great to hear from you. Kind regards, Lino Ruocco

I am now friends with Rosemary - thank you. I think my cousin Trofimena was a teacher. My uncle Pasquale lived in London and he must have passed over now as he was older than my Dad. I will try and ring you soon. I did make myself a sort of time line when I was researching the family tree, but iI don't have it to hand. We are visiting Minori in late September. :-) Olga

If you are visiting Minori in September, I would personally go to the Town Hall (Municipio) and do a search there. They are very helpful and I am sure they will trace your family tree with you as well as finding out if any of your relatives are still alive and their children still live in Minori. The local church is also a good possibility as they record all births and deaths. On another note, you will love Minori and you will make it your town once you fall in love with it. I went back there after 54 years and the emotion was out of this world. I too searched for my family tree and the people at the Municipio were extremely helpful. I don't know if your family is related to mine, as the Ruocco family is massive!!! My father was born in Minori in 1915 and we all emigrated in 1957 to London. Good luck and say hello to Minori for me. Saluti, LinoOlga Ruocco6 luglio 13:06:16Thank you Leno for your helpful post with ideas as to how to track my ancestors. I am so looking forward to my visit. We might well be related somehow. I'll definitely say "hello" Minori for you. Grazie, OlgaLeno Ruocco8 luglio 22:24:48Ciao Olga. My Dad was born in Minori in February 1904,and left for London in the 1920s. I am paying my first visit to his hometown in September. His name was Giuseppe Ruocco, and his eldest brother was called Vincenzo, then there was Pascale, Michele, and Marco. From what I can remember four of the brothers married four sisters, but I don't know their surnames. Vincenzo married Fortunata (they had a son called Mick) and Pascale married Marietta (they had three daughters: Maria, Agnese and Nina). I think my father had a sister possibly called Agnese and I think she had a daughter called Trofimena.(I met Trofimena in the 1960s,and she might have been in her 30s then). I'm wondering if I have any relatives left in Minori. I believe my grandfather's name was Michele, but I don't know anything about my grandmother. Is there anywhere I can find more information about my family, please?
